AN ANALYSIS OF INDUS VALLEY CIVILIZATION ON THE CRITERIA OF SMART CITIES MISSION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

Various civilizations throughout history have grappled with the idea of smart growth and have
focused on diverse criteria. In the present day, the government is striving to implement "Smart
City” concept in response to the scarcity of resources for future generations. The purpose of
this paper is to compare ancient Indian cities with measurable criteria from the ongoing Smart
city mission. By considering the current condition of cities and the necessity for the
advancement of smart cities, the relevant parameters for smart cities are categorized and
applied to outline the ancient cities of their respective eras.
