COMPARISON OF SPORTS ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION BETWEEN MALE AND FEMALE FENCERS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the level of Sports Achievement
Motivation between male and female fencing players of Manipur. Altogether 40
players, male = 20 and female = 20 fencers who represented in the national fencing
championships were taken for the study. The age of the subject ranged from 17 to 24
years. To find the out the level of Sport Achievement Motivation, Sports Achievement
Motivation Test (SAMT) questionnaire developed by Kamlesh (1990) was
administered on the subject. t-test was used to analyze the data. The results of the
study revealed that that there was no significant difference in sports achievement
motivation between male and female fencers with regard to sports achievement
motivation.
