Abstract

Technology integration is a key element of education in the twenty-first century. The National
Education Policy (NEP) 2020 places a strong emphasis on integrating technology into the
curriculum of physical education and sports science classes. The scope of technological
integration in K–12 physical education curricula is examined in this study. The study is
supported by the fact that students in the twenty-first century have grown up in a
technologically advanced world where mobile phones and other tech-based gadgets are an
integral part of their daily lives. The study's main goals are to examine the policy measures in
NEP 2020 and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 that encourage the use of
technology in physical education, examine international policies and guidelines, ascertain the
difficulties schools face when integrating technology into physical education classes. And
examining the potential of digital platforms to engage students and enhance learning outcomes
in physical education. A thematic analysis of the research findings is conducted by looking at
the policy documents, research studies, academic articles, and digital platforms. According to
the study's findings, NEP 2020 emphasizes the value of physical education in the curriculum
from the foundational stage forward and the integration of technology into physical education
curricula. Poor infrastructure, inadequate teacher training, unequal access to technology, and a
lack of digital platforms for sports education are the biggest obstacles teachers encounter when
incorporating technology into the physical education curriculum. The researchers looked into
online physical education resources and digital platforms that might be included into the
curriculum. The study emphasizes that technology can be incorporated into physical education
curricula and suggests that funding for school technology adoption be increased, that educators
and ed-tech companies collaborate, and that stakeholders, educators, and policymakers work
together to enhance K–12 physical education through digital innovation.
